$26.04 - $52.08 Hourly

Team Gilbert is seeking highly motivated candidates to join our Crime Scene Dream Team! The primary responsibilities for our Forensic Scientists include (but not limited to): performing complex latent print detection and comparisons, conducting chemical and physical analysis on items, reconstructing physical evidence of a crime, taking inked prints for criminal and non-criminal matters, maintaining fingerprint files, conferring with and assisting Police Officers, attorneys, and federal authorities in the investigation and solution of crimes. Candidates for the Forensic Scientist I position must possess: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology;  Chemistry; Forensic Science; or a related field.

  • Experience as a Crime Scene Specialist; Latent Fingerprint Examiner; or equivalent position, for a minimum of two years; or

  • Experience as a Forensic Scientist I, or equivalent position, for 1 year.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain an Arizona Automated Fingerprint Identification System certification within 12 months.

  • Salary range for a Forensic Scientist I: $26.04 - $37.76 Hourly


Candidates for the Forensic Scientist II position must possess: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology; Chemistry; Forensic Science; or a related field.

  • 4 years of comparative analysis experience; analyzing, comparing, evaluating, and verifying latent fingerprints, palm prints, and foot prints.

  • 4 years of experience in image processing and certification as a Latent Print Examiner by the International Association of Identification (I.A.I.).

  • 4 years of experience as Forensic Scientist I, or equivalent positionin an American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB) accredited laboratory actively engaged in the forensic sciences and testifying in court as an expert witness.

  • Must possess an Arizona Automated Fingerprint Identification System certification.

  • Salary Range for a Forensic Scientist II: $28.86 - $43.29 Hourly 

Candidates for the Forensic Scientist III position must possess: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology; Chemistry; Forensic Science; or a related field.

  • 7 years of comparative analysis experience; analyzing, comparing, evaluating, and verifying latent fingerprints, palm prints, and footprints.

  • 7 years of experience in image processing and certification as a Latent Print Examiner by the International Association of Identification (I.A.I.).

  • 7 years of experience as Forensic Scientist I, or equivalent position, in an American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB) accredited laboratory actively engaged in the forensic sciences and testifying in court as an expert witness.

  • Must possess an Arizona Automated Fingerprint Identification System certification.

  • Salary Range for a Forensic Scientist III: $34.72 - $52.08 Hourly 


Special Requirement: Because of the confidential, sensitive nature of information handled, successful completion of a background investigation and polygraph is required. Candidates given a conditional job offer will be required to pass a psychological evaluation and medical evaluation. 

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.
